Madhavi Reddi is a versatile photographer based in Arlington, VA, specializing in performing arts photography, portraits, and events. Her interest in the arts started at a young age and has continued all the way through her undergraduate education at American University, where she majored in Film and Media Arts.
At the age of 4, she started her training in Bharatanatyam, (an Indian classical form of dance) under the tutelage of Smt.Padmarani Rasiah Cantu of the Fine Arts Society, Yogaville, VA. She also attended many of the Fine Arts Society Natya Adyayana Gurukulam summer camps, where she had the privelage to train under the Padmabhushan awardees, Sri and Smt. V.P. and Shanta Dhananjayan. Madhavi did her arangetram in 2010 and has continued to perform and give workshops both in the US and in India.
Her experience in Bharatanatyam has made her a stellar performing arts photographer. She has photographed several artists and her photos have been featured in the Naadabramhan Magazine, Chennai.
In the spring of 2015, Madhavi's photo exhibit "That ABCD Life" premiered at The Bridge PAI in Charlottesville, VA. This exhibit features the voices of ABCDs (American Born Confused Desis). The exhibit was also featured at the Kluge Ruhe Art Museum's "Art Instead" event in July 2015.
